(HE)ART BEATS! 2024
(HE) ART BEATS! 2024
International networking conference
on participation in art and culture
FOR WHOM
For artists, art students, lecturers, researchers, representatives of cultural organizations and institutions, teachers of different school levels including art schools, students of pedagogy, students of arts management and all others interested in arts, culture and our common future.
OUR AIMS
The contemporary world is struggling with radicalization, intolerance of all kinds, opinions and attitudes are constantly sharpening. We face natural disasters and armed conflicts. Culture and art have a huge potential to help understand, reflect, and advance the dialogue on these topics with the broader society. Participation, i.e. our active participation in culture and art in the places where we live, shapes our personality, society, and the environment around us. How to support this unique role of culture? How to inspire each other - at home and abroad? We invite you to a three-day dialogue between Czech and international professionals from the cultural and creative sector with experts and people from the "field" who are mainly engaged in social and environmental issues. We expect interactions, discussions, workshops, inspiring performances. We look forward to seeing you!

INSPIRATIONAL PERFORMANCE: MERRY MOMENTS: MY SIBERIA
The Merry Moments Choir is a community of DAMU students and alumni who work together to create original productions that combine choral singing with site-specific theatre to create music-theatre performances and productions in spaces that deserve revival. The aim of Merry Moments is to push the boundaries of choral singing: today the choir brings together actors, directors, choreographers, dancers, musicians, singers, stage designers and other professionals from different fields.
My Siberia is a graduation composition by Roman Zabelov, in which he works with his newly built electromagnetic accordion. It is a spatial composition using seven instrumentalists, eight singers and an acousmonium. The subject of the piece is the relationship to important places in our lives.
Roman Zabelov (*1989) is an accordionist and composer. This year he graduated from the doctoral program for composers at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. In addition to classical composition, he is also a performing musician, but primarily works as an accordionist and singer in the Zabelov Group.
